Live data comes from free government sources, including NOAA tide station 8661070 at Springmaid Pier in Myrtle Beach and the National Weather Service office in Wilmington. Sunrise, twilight and moon times are calculated. Every fact on the site is labeled with its source.

Land-based shark fishing is banned in Horry County, Myrtle Beach and Surfside Beach, and North Myrtle Beach bans it within a mile of the beach. Sharks are listed for safety only.
Each fish page shows the current South Carolina size and bag limits, the date they were last checked, and a link to the official rules. FISH is not legal advice, and the official rules win.
